Years of collecting and preserving antique sequins has inspired Giovanna’s transformation of their uniqueness into contemporary jewelry. Suspended on steel wire and combined with a range of other materials, each design allows continuous movement while revealing their sculptural and aerial quality. These sequins, last cut in the 1930s, are precious and disappearing. Their exceptional shapes, size, color, and texture give each piece a delicately organized architectural structure and aesthetic.
Giovanna's work has been showcased in California's contemporary jewelry galleries and San Francisco's boutique shops since 2000.
All her collections are designed and hand-crafted in her Oakland, CA studio and include both limited edition and 'one of a kind' pieces.
