Years of collecting and preserving antique sequins has inspired Giovanna’s transformation of their uniqueness into contemporary jewelry. Suspended and combined with a range of materials, they allow continuous movement while revealing sculptural and aerial qualities. These sequins, last cut between 1880s and 1930s, are precious and finite.
Their exceptional shape, size, color, and texture give each jewelry piece a delicately organized architectural structure and aesthetic.
Giovanna's work has been showcased in California's contemporary jewelry galleries and San Francisco's boutique shops since 2000.
All her collections are designed and hand-crafted in her Oakland, CA studio and include both limited edition and 'one of a kind' pieces.
